VeriFactu in BionicAdri: tested in the AEAT test environment

Mandatory electronic invoicing is now a reality in Spain. BionicAdri's invoicing already generates the technical elements of VeriFactu and has been successfully tested, with one accepted submission, in the AEAT test environment. Actual submission to the tax authority is not yet available.

What is VeriFactu?

VeriFactu is the Invoice Verification system of the Spanish Tax Agency (AEAT), which establishes:

  • Immediate recording — The regulation requires each invoice to be reported to Hacienda in real time or near-real time
  • Tax blockchain — Each invoice includes a hash chained to the previous one, preventing tampering
  • Electronic signature — Mandatory digital certificate from the issuer
  • Structured XML format — According to the AEAT technical specification
  • Immutability — Once recorded, the invoice cannot be modified without leaving a trace

What BionicAdri has ready for VeriFactu

BionicAdri invoicing includes as standard the technical elements required by VeriFactu:

Hash Chain

Each invoice generates a SHA-256 fingerprint chained to the previous one, so that any alteration breaks the chain and becomes visible.

XML, QR and event log

Generation of the XML record, verification QR code on the invoice and event log. Tested with an accepted submission in the AEAT test environment; actual submission to the AEAT is not yet available.

Digital signature

Support for electronic certificates to sign invoices in accordance with the published technical specifications.

Tax Forms

Preparation of data for Modelo 303 (quarterly VAT), 390 (annual summary) and 347 (transactions with third parties).

Current status: what is active and what is not

  • Ready — chained SHA-256 fingerprint, XML record, verification QR and event log on every invoice.
  • Tested — one accepted submission in the AEAT test environment.
  • Actual submission not yet available — today the software does not submit to Hacienda; you should review the timetable and requirements that apply to you with your adviser.

Benefits for your business

  • Less adaptation — invoicing already generates the technical elements for VeriFactu, without extra modules.
  • Automatic accounting — each invoice generates the accounting entries under the Spanish PGC.
  • AI anomaly detection — ADRI can flag duplicate invoices, unusual amounts and suspicious patterns for a person to review.
  • Supplier portal — your suppliers can send invoices to the system.

Penalties and deadlines depend on your tax situation: check them with your adviser or with the AEAT.

Legal Deadlines

The mandatory timetable for VeriFactu is phased and depends on the type of taxpayer. Confirm it with your adviser or on the AEAT website. If you want to see how your invoicing is prepared, contact us.

Conclusion

VeriFactu is a regulatory obligation, and it is advisable to have your invoicing ready. At BionicAdri, the technical elements are already generated and have been tested in the AEAT test environment; actual submission to the AEAT is not yet available.
