Quick summary
The connection is made directly to your mail server. This means it does not depend on an external authorisation that the provider can revoke without notice, and it does not disconnect on its own.
In return, for accounts with two-step verification (most today), you will need to generate a "App password" of 16 characters. It is generated once and lasts indefinitely, unless you delete it.
How to add an account
- Go to the Email → Accounts → Add account section.
- Enter your email address — the system autocompletes the servers when it recognises the domain (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, Zoho, iCloud, etc.).
- If your provider requires an app password, you'll see a notice with a direct link to your account's security panel.
- Paste the 16-character password.
- Test the connection before saving.
App passwords, step by step
Gmail
- Enable two-step verification on your Google account if you don't already have it.
- Go to the app passwords manager in your Google account.
- Create a new one with an identifying name and copy the 16-character code.
Outlook / Microsoft
- Enable two-step verification on your Microsoft account.
- Generate a new app password from the security panel.
Yahoo, iCloud, Zoho
The process is similar: go to the security section of your account and generate an app-specific password.
Own domain
If your email is of the type [email protected], the connection details are provided by your hosting provider, usually under "Email accounts → Configure client". In most of these cases, the normal mailbox password works directly without needing an app password.
Corporate accounts with restrictions
Some companies disable traditional email access at organisation level for security reasons. If you get an error of the type "access disabled", you have three options: ask your organisation's administrator to enable it, create a dedicated service account without two-step verification, or use a specialised transactional sending service with your own domain.
Common errors
- "An app-specific password is required" — you have entered your usual password instead of the app password.
- Incorrect username or password — check that the username is the full email address and that there are no spaces when copying the password.
- Access disabled — see the previous section on restricted corporate accounts.
- Connection refused or timeout — check the server details or try from another network.
When any of these errors occurs, the system tries to detect it automatically and shows you a notice with a direct link to the correct panel for your provider.
Fast inbox
The email list loads in under a second thanks to a lightweight index stored on the server (sender, subject and date); the full content is only downloaded when you open each message. New emails appear on their own every few seconds without needing to reload the page, and searching by subject, sender or the beginning of the message body is practically instantaneous.
Privacy: the full content of your emails is not stored on the platform — only the headers (sender, subject, date). The text is downloaded directly from your mail server each time you open it.
Multiple selection
You can select multiple emails at once (by hovering over each one's avatar) and apply bulk actions: mark as read/unread or delete, without having to open them one by one.
